I WURCES Joint International Workshop "STRIVING FOR EXCELLENCE: EUROPEAN STUDIES IN UKRAINE"
On March 28, 2019, the first WURCES joint workshop was co-organized in the cooperation with the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence of the “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy”. The representatives of the Ukrainian Association of Professors and Researchers on European Integration, the Ukrainian European Studies Association and the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine also took part in the event. The workshop brought together participants from Ughgorod, Lviv, Kyiv, Melitopol and Kryvyy Rig, who discussed the current state of European Studies and most pressing needs of Ukrainian scholars active in this field. 17 partcipants from all parts of Ukraine attended the event, which took place at the National University "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy". The WURCES team shared their experiences and preliminary research results in the fields of EU-Ukraine educational cooperation (SRF Oksana Krayevska) and on the research potential of European Studies in Ukraine (SRF Roman Kalytchak).
II WURCES Joint International Workshop in Moldova: "EUROPEAN STUDIES IN THE EAP COUNTRIES"
The WURCES team from the Ivan Franko National University (Oksana Holovko-Havrysheva, Vasyl Zelenko, Oksana Krayevska and Svitlana Sas) visited the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (Academia de Studii Ekonomice a Moldovei, Chisianau, Moldova) on September 26 -28, 2019. During the joint international seminar the WURCES team discussed the development of European Studies in post-Soviet area and the contribution of both centers to the academic support of the fulfillment of the association agreements in both countries. Professor Olesiya Sirbu and professor Rodica Krudu represented the academic journal «Eastern European Journal of Regional Studies» and ASEM experiences in participation at international projects. The WURCES team took also part at the international scientific conference «Competitiveness and Innovations in Knowledge Economy», organized by Moldavian partners.
III WURCES Joint International Workshop "MULTIDISCIPLINARY CHALLENGES IN THE FIELD OF EUROPEAN INTEGRATION: EXPERIENCES OF BALKAN COUNTRIES"
On April 14-15, 2021 the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv (Ukraine) hosted an online іnternational workshop adressing the experiences of Balkan countires in research and teaching European Studies. The event was organized by the Western Ukrainian Research Center for European Studies (Jean Monnet Center of Excellence) and gathered 22 participants from Armenia, Austria, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzogovina, Moldova, Kosovo and Ukraine.Particular focus was on national practices of legislative and regulatory compliance with EU standards in the digital economy, e-commerce, digital industries, etc., which could affect the relevant approximation practices in the Balkans and Eastern Partnership countries.
IV WURCES Joint International Workshop "DISCIPLINARY CHALLENGES IN THE FIELD OF EUROPEAN INTEGRATION: EXPERIENCES OF POST-SOCIALIST COUNTRIES"
On July 19, 2023 and July 31, 2023 the IV WURCES International Workshop on disciplinary challenges in the area of European Studies has been conducted in a mixed format by the JMCE WURCES. During the first day 14 attendees discussed online the contemporary challenges and practices of teaching and research of EI-related disciplines, whereas during the inhouse workshop the WURCES team and the participants to other WURCES projects discussed its future research areas and research specialization after the end of the project 599469-EPP1-2018-1 -UA-EPJMO-CoE.
