Training visit to Czech University of Life Sciences

On 1-4 October 2024, the training visit to the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague as part of the Erasmus+ CA2 UniCom project took place within the framework of the realization of the project ‘Universities-Communities: Strengthening Cooperation’ (UniCom). This study visit focused on practices of realizing the third mission of universities, especially addressing the pathways to connect the academia and community from the perspectives of Czech universities. Iryna Snovydovych, Head of the Department of Career Development and Cooperation with Business, Associate Professor of the Department of Economics and Public Administration, and Yaryna Tanchak, Head of the Centre for Social Development and Public Initiatives, Associate Professor of the Department of Social Work and Social Pedagogy represented the Lviv University during this visit.
The trainings, practical meetings, discussions, and debates unveiled the practices of the Faculty of Tropical Agricultural Sciences of the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague, where Professor Genik Roudik and Marek Jelinek coordinated the visit. While describing the Czech University of Life Sciences' approach to the third mission, Professor Geník Roudik noted that ‘The third mission of the Czech University of Life Sciences is an important aspect of the University's activities, helping to connect the academic community with society and contribute to the sustainable development of the region". Participants also visited the study facilities of the CZU, scientific laboratories, the botanic garden and contributed to the international conference for young researchers “Resilience in the Face of Global Challenges”.
