On July 31, 2023, the Faculty of International Relations of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv hosted a presentation of the results of the project Jean Monnet Project "599469-EPP-1-2018-1-UA-EPJMO-CoE: WESTERN UKRAINIAN RESEARCH CENTER FOR EUROPEAN STUDIES", which was implemented at the Faculty of International Relations and the Faculty of Financial Management and Business during five years.

While congratulating the project team on the completion of the work, the Dean of the Faculty of International Relations, Professor Markiyan Malskyy, noted the active work of the Center to ensure Ukraine's European integration course and to disseminate knowledge about the European Union both among the professional audience and wider public. The Dean of the Faculty of Financial Management and Business Andriy Stasyshyn in his welcoming speech emphasized the role of the Center for the development of professional expertise on the economic aspects of European integration processes at the Faculty of Financial Management and Business and its assistance in strengthening the project work of the faculty, and also noted the results achieved by the team. The Head of the Jean Monnet Center of Excellence Oksana Holovko-Havrysheva presented the main achievements during the project lifetime. As Oksana Holovko-Havrysheva stated, the most important project result was the creation in March 2019 of the Center of Excellence as one of the structural units of the University, with the task to foster research in the field of European Studies and to offer academic support for Ukraine on the road of European integration.

During the project realization the JMCE “WESTERN UKRAINIAN RESEARCH CENTER FOR EUROPEAN STUDIES” conducted 5 winter schools in European Studies, capacity-building trainings and certificate program in evidence-based public policy-making for professional audience, 4 international workshops on contemporary state of art in teaching and research of European Studies in Ukraine, in the post-Soviet and post-Socialist countries and in the Balkan countries. During the project realization the JMCE team published 5 articles in international journals and 5 policy papers. 2 monographs were authored and 2 monographs were edited by the JMCE WURCES team members.
