STUDY VISIT TO THE UNIVERSITY OF GENOA WITHIN THE REALIZATION OF THE UNICOM PROJECT

From April 11 till April 15, 2023 the team of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, consisting of Oksana Holovko-Havrysheva (Associate professor of the European Law Department at the Faculty of International Relations, Head of the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence “Western Ukrainian Research Centre for European Studies” of the Lviv University) and Olha Stoliaryk (Assistant professor of the Chair for Social Work of the Faculty of Pedagogy) took part at the kick-off meeting and the study visit to the University of Genoa (Italy) within the framework of the realization of the Erasmus+ Structural Capacity Building project 101083077-UNICOM-ERASMUS-EDU-2022-CBHE "Universities-Communities: Strengthening Cooperation (UNICOM)".

The representatives of the project partners: University of Genoa (Italy), Fachhochschule des Mittelstands (Germany), University of Latvia (Latvia), Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague (Czechia), Lund University (Sweden), Fondazione Sicurezza e Liberta (Italy) and the Accreditation Council for Entrepreneurial and Engaged Universities (Germany), the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the National Pedagogical Dragomanov University, Sumy National Agrarian University, Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics, Bohdan Khmelnitskiy Melitopol Pedagogical State University, Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs, Vinnitsa State Medical University, the Institute of Higher Education of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences, the Ukrainian Association of Professors and Researchers of European Integration and the Ukrainian Association of European Studies shared their experiences on the realization of the third mission of universities. The Ukrainian partner institutions highlighted the need to consider the impact of the russian war against Ukraine on the university life and prioritization of the third mission agendas of Ukrainian universities.

During the kick-off meeting the organisation of the project realisation was discussed, including the workplan for the activities in the first and second project year and the Lviv University practice regarding the third mission was presented. The study visit program included the presentation of Italian experiences of regulation of the third mission at the national level and the practices of the University of Genoa. The study visit program included the participation of the Lviv University team at the international conference “Intercultural Education: daily life and crisis time”, where ass. prof. Olha Stoliaryk highlighted the practices of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv in the area of social engagement and Oksana Holovko-Havrysheva addressed the cooperation between universities and civic society institutions in the course of the Europeanisation.
