II WURCES WINTER SCHOOL IN EUROPEAN STUDIES
On February 24-28, 2020, the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv hosted II WINTER SCHOOL IN EUROPEAN STUDIES for students and young professionals in different areas. The winter school addressed the intergration processes in Europe. The WURCES team, prof. Nataliya Antonyuk (Lviv University) and the guest lecturer Roman Petrov (NaUKMA) shared their knowledge about political, legal and economic aspects of European integration processes, about the relations between the EU and Ukraine and about the support the EU grants to Ukraine. During the first day of the Winter School there were 40 participants, during the second day of the Winter School there were 39 participants, during the third day of the Winter School there were 40 participants, during the forth day of the Winter School were 38 participants present. At the last day 41 partcipants were present and 35 attendees recieved the partcipation certificates. At the II Winter School in European Studies lectured 9 lecturers and guest speakers from Ukraine. The Winter School participants were students from Kyiv, Lviv, Lebedyn, Zaporigghia, Dnipro, Kharkiv, Uman and other citites of Ukraine.
I WURCES WINTER SCHOOL IN EUROPEAN STUDIES
On February 18-22, 2019, the first WURCES WINTER SCHOOL IN EUROPEAN STUDIES took place at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. It gathered 23 students who did not have EU studies as part of the curriculum. The WURCES team and the guest lecturers shared their knowledge about legal, political and economic dimensions of integration in the EU, EU-Ukraine current relations and the implementation of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement. Participants and lecturers reflected jointly on the societal developments in Central and Eastern Europe in the connection to Ukraine. The Winter School agenda addressed in particular EU-Ukraine relations; the nature of the EU, EU’s institutional framework, EU’s Policies, multi-level governance in the EU, role of local communities, legal regulation of the economic activities in the EU, etc. During the first day of the Winter School there were 23 participants, during the second day of the Winter School there were 22 participants, during the third day of the Winter School there were 20 participants, during the forth day of the Winter School were 23 participants present. 23 partcipants attended the 5-th day of the Winter School. At the I Winter School in European Studies lectured 6 lecturers from Ukraine.
III WURCES WINTER SCHOOL IN EUROPEAN STUDIES
On February 22-26, 2021 the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv hosted in online format the III WINTER SCHOOL IN EUROPEAN STUDIES. Despite the difficult epidemiological situation in Ukraine and in the world and thanks to the opportunities for a distance learning it gathered the participants from Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Odesa, Vinnytsia, Lviv, Zhytomyr, Lutsk and other citties of Ukraine. There were 56 registrations for the III WInter School of European Studies in the online format. During the first day of the Winter School there were 28 participants, during the second day of the Winter School there were 31 participants, during the third day of the Winter School there were 31 participants, during the forth day of the Winter School were 35 participants present. At the last day 29 attendees were present. During the Winter School our participants together with Ukrainian and international experts had the opportunity to get the knowledge about the EU, its system and functioning, the contemporary state of arts in the relations between the EU and Ukraine.
IV WURCES WINTER SCHOOL IN EUROPEAN STUDIES
On February 14-18, 2022, the fourthWURCES WINTER SCHOOL IN EUROPEAN STUDIES took place at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. Despite the difficult epidemiologic situation in Ukraine and thanks to the oppprtunities of digital education this school gathered partcipants with different educational backgrounds from Kyiv, Dnipro, Zaporigghia, Lviv, Lutsk and other cities of Ukraine. Initially there were 69 registrations for the event, where at the first day the school gathered 77 attendees; at the second day there were 37 participants; at the third day the school had again 77 attendees and 44 participants attended the school during the fifth day. This time 13 Ukrainian and international experts lectured during the IV Winter School. and During the week participants discussed with Ukrainian and international experts the EU's political, economic and legal system, its role on the international arena, the current state of the relations between Ukraine and the EU as well as possible ways of enhancing the bilateral cooperation based on the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement.
V WURCES WINTER SCHOOL IN EUROPEAN STUDIES
On February 20-24, 2023, the fifthWURCES WINTER SCHOOL IN EUROPEAN STUDIES was hosted by the Lviv University. It was conducted in the online format because of the full-scale war which russia started against Ukraine on February 24, 2022. 75 applicants registered for the V Winter School in European Studies. During the first day of the Winter School there were 43 participants, during the second day of the Winter School there were 31 participants online, during the third day of the Winter School there were 33 participants, during the forth day of the Winter School were 28 participants present. At the last day 34 partcipants were present and 35 recieved the partcipation certificates. At the V Winter School in European Studies lectured 19 experts: 7 lecturers from the EU countries and 12 speakers were from Ukraine. The school gathered participants from Dnipro, Kyiv, Charkiv, Odesa, Lutsk, Lviv and other cities of Ukraine. Among other issues it focused upon current relations between the EU and Ukraine in the war times, the EU membership of Ukraine and rebuilding strategies for the post-war Ukraine. The V Winter School in European Studies was conducted in the cooperation with the EPFMA PEAAD, the Ukrainian European Studies Association, the EU Infromation Center at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv and the Vilnius University (Lithuania).
